I love that each Potter story changes up the formula in terms of Harry's missions. Knowing that the fight against Voldemort is coming, it's difficult to see this for more than just a filler in between, but it's far from that notion. And that's one of the brilliant things about this 6th film, it keeps the tone in line with the somber end of Order of the Phoenix and mixes in nicely timed humor and light energy. While the latter doesn't appear in the film in a physical sense, his presence is felt throughout. Voldemort sets Draco Malfoy out on a secret but important mission inside Hogwarts, while Harry finds and becomes obsessed with a book belonged to "The Half-Blood Prince" amidst his ongoing battle with Voldemort. See /privacy for more information.Half-Blood Prince is perhaps the most plotting of the 8 films, taking its time with the ongoing Voldemort conflict, but the pay-off is about as satisfying as anything the franchise had presented to that point. We had our first gathering this week and it was so good to see you all we almost cried. Next week, we're rounding out the season with a final Owl Post and a conversation with our mentor, Stephanie Paulsell. Also, in case you missed it, Casper has written a book: The Power of Ritual! In July we’ll be doing a twenty-one city live show tour to celebrate the book and some tickets go on sale TODAY!Īnother thing you can do during quarantine is join us at our 8-week online class: Together in Quarantine. Throughout the episode they explore the question: How much do we hold people accountable for their flaws, while knowing that we are all flawed? They explore the deep similarities between this book and Book 2 of the series: comparing Slughorn to Lockhart, Snape's potions book to Tom Riddle's diary, and Tom Riddle to Draco Malfoy. Vanessa and Casper look back at all of Season 6, and pull out a few key insights from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
